The Riley Greystone Eastern King Panel Bed W/Storage and USB doesn't require a box spring, but we do recommend using a mattress that is at least 12" tall due to the gap beneath the headboard.

However, despite the call, the issues were not resolved. Had to call and pay for a handyman. I suggest to pay for the full service (but then again you'll risk the quality of their work as they may or may not be skilled).
